sewing labels on clothes
The easiest option for attaching your clothing label is to iron it onto the garment. Iron a label with an adhesive onto the piece of clothing. This option also allows you to remove the label if ever needed easily.
Today I’m sharing some ideas for how to make clothing tags with you. What better way for you to use your logo and/or make sure someone knows how much love and time was put into a handmade garment.
Using a seam gauge, work out how far from the edge of the fabric the label needs to sit. Once measured, hold it in place (making sure that the raw edge of the label and the raw edge of the fabric are pointing in the same direction) and sew a basting stitch within the seam allowance. Sew the seam as normal and the stitches should also catch the label!
Sewn in label
I love these taggies stickers so much that I’ve bought more. I get my last name so that they work for both of my boys (and have gotten a brighter color rather than gray this time around so they’re easier for teachers to spot!). They last a long time but aren’t permanent (great for passing on outgrown items to neighbors), they fit in tiny mittens… I can quickly and easily stick them on a new garment as we put on a new hat before heading to the bus stop… Love these!!!
