What is a neck tag?
Custom neck tags can have many uses. They can be an additional detail that strengthens the brand, they can be different creative approaches in design, they can be a way to represent a special or limited edition product, and of course they can be a way to provide the information needed for a product. Whatever their potential use, if you’re new to custom neck tags, they can sometimes be a confusing topic. This blog post and video should help you figure it all out.
A neck label contains information about the garment that is on the inside rear of the garment around the neck area. These labels can be applied to the neck area by either printing (pad printing, heat transfer, or screen printing) or sewing in a label.

What are custom neck labels?
Custom neck labels are usually woven or printed labels, replacing stock manufacturer labels, these are the most popular, but there are some other types of labels as well. Printed labels are by far the most popular because they are cost effective and almost non-existent. They can be added to almost any garment or place, not just a T-shirt neck. Jackets, hoodies, vests, shorts and more can benefit from custom printed labels. The woven label is a more traditional type of label. Although expensive to make and apply, some people like them because of their high quality and professional look.

What is required in a custom neck label?
1、Country of origin. This is the most confusing message, because printers think that if they print in their own country, they make it in their own country. This is wrong. The country of origin on the label is the country where the garment was originally produced.
2、Material Information – What is the garment made out of? (100% cotton, 50% polyester / 50% cotton)
3、Garment size—Samll.Medium,Large,etc.
What other information should my neck label have?
In addition to legal information, you can also be creative! Most neck tags include:
- Company logo+name
- Care instructions
- Website
- Social media
- Slogan
Not all the information needs to be included, but it gives you a starting point for what you can do for your clothing brand.

The Benefit of Customizing a Neck Label
Make your brand stand out. Clothing procurement has largely shifted to online sales. A prominent (good) neck tag will not only catch the buyer’s attention, it will also remind people where to order other clothes. Be both creative and professional to really stand out.

Where do you want to place your tags?
The most common place for tags — and any custom tags you might choose to design — is in the inner neck. However, there can also be a ruffled tag that can be placed on the sleeve or bottom of a T-shirt or hoodie. This can be a way to display your label and use it as a way to stamp your identity on your merchandise.
(In this case, you might want to use a printed label with woven rather than silk, as the former is more appropriate for an upscale looking garment.)

Why should I get neck labels printed?
Printing sizing and care information on the inside collar of the garment via a screen, rather than ordering woven labels, is cheap and quick. If you’re not a graphic designer, then tag design around the neck may be an extra you don’t necessarily budget for. To make the process more accessible and affordable for people, we came up with super-easy-to-use templates to accommodate a range of different brand styles.
